Description:
While countermeasures have finally made in GTA Online, in GTAV Storymode they just don't work...
This mod fixes this problem allowing dropping flares as defence. They will act just like in GTA Online, attracting incoming missiles.
Installation instructions:
Just press E on the Keyboard or Right on the Gamepad to launch flares if you are in a supported vehicle. There will be a cooldown after each launch (the game will not render properly too many flares…)
By default only Akula, Buzzard Attack Chopper and P-996 Lazer have countermeasures. You can fix that adding tags inside countermeasures.xml:
What's new?
- Missiles will now actually follow flares and not you
- You don't need to own a FlareGun anymore
- Corrected a bug that caused NullReferenceException at startup
- Mod will not handle exceptions no more
- Changed the structure of the xml file and the name of the assembly for future updates

- Just drop Flares.dll and countermeasures.xml inside scripts folder.

If someone plays GTA Online should know that when you used countermeasures and they are not ready yet, there is a sound played.
If you know where I can find that sound in game files, please let me know.

@_Achille I did not know that I did not notice while I tested and you can put the same color as the other mod in place of the illuminating smoke so that it is more realistic?
@Alex01 I will try, but Rockstar made flares that color so I don’t think I can…
@_Achille like that of the mod '' IR Countermeasures '' I find that it is better than the rockets and I re tested the two mods just need to flee the two done your best!

I tried dispense flares but seems don't work missiles hit me always.

@TrustNo1 The honest answer is that online mode makes more money for Rockstar, and they don't want to "waste" money on adding anything to single player.

Can you make a mod that will allow us to carpet bomb from planes?

after update works fine :) missiles follow the flares ) now funny and long dogfigths with your mod thank you!
Dont know if you are still active. But would love the option to edit the time between the times you can activate the flares
