Carjack Plus adds a bit of variety to stealing cars driven by pedestrians. This mod blends well with vanilla game play and modded experiences with performance in mind. Controllers should be compatible with this mod though it has not been tested.
V2.0 Changelog:
- Added fix for larger vehicle animation issue. Targeted drivers will flea by sliding over a seat. They have a chance of fighting or running after exiting the vehicle
- Fixes for some extra vehicles used in missions
- Performance improvements. All actions are now tasked out sequences, so the detection of the player jacking a vehicle is almost instantaneous.
- Added in Wanted Level settings. You can set the max wanted level you would like the player to receive for jacking a vehicle. It will slowly progress over time until the max set wanted stars is reached. Time settings can also be adjusted.
- The car is no longer considered stolen/wanted if you exit it before police are called or if you evade the police.
This mod introduces the following features:
- Vehicles the player attempts to enter will be locked (based on chanceofLock)
- Player will forcefully jack and enter cars
- Drivers have a chance to fight the player with a variety of close combat weapons (based on pedChanceOfFight)
Notes:
- Core pedestrian logic and response to events can override the gun carjacking. Meaning peds will ignore carjacking attempts and will only resort to fleeing & speeding forward if they enter a zone where you have caused peds to panic (e.g aiming weapon, shooting, fighting)
- Default key "L" will enable and disable the mod (this can be changed in ini settings file)
Installation:
Included are current versions of SHV, SHVDN, SHVDN2, & SHVDN3 and the script
1. Download and open archive
2. Copy all files and 'scripts' folder inside of 'Grand Theft Auto V' folder to your GTAV root directory

@Toxicslurb no worries..i wasn't trying to sound like an ass, but after rereading what i wrote...id like to apologize if i did come across that way.
my line of thinking is that stealing a car should come with penalty...and what better way than to get the cops involved.
i was using better chases + for a long long time but it was causing all kinds of weird things to happen with my game...i tried getting support but the modder abandoned the mod some time ago.

@Wolf_22 This mod does exactly what that mod does + more. My mod is a lot more performance friendly since it isn't constantly scanning for nearby vehicles like most

@defiant I see what you mean but try better chases + with pull me over and stolen. It will make stealing cars better.
this mod is so good, but i found a bug where when you steal trucks or tall vehicles, it does double animation
Please you can create a mod with a different animation for enter in cars?
@TestBrasil @JessBraham I noticed that too while testing along with a few other small bugs. I should have most of it fixed with the next update. still working out a a couple of issues tho so no ETA

This is so cool! Is there any way to make the player try the door handle first before breaking the glass? Similar to how the AI break into cars, because I think that would make it look like a movie! Overall, this mod is amazing!
@WolfFire23309 Yes, I believe that's an action that can be tried before the player commits to the carjacking. I can see about adding an optional setting in the ini to hard enable/disable that feature in the next update

can you make the mod work instantly? Without enable key
@Alex_Hornet It works right after loading into story mode for me. Does it not work until you press the hotkey? Also - did you change the hotkey setting before running it for the first time? May be something I'll have to look into if it's a continuous issue.
@bagbonez yes, it works instantly. I didn't notice that button L the same as my another mod which i run first, and yours becomes disabled lol

Wait, can this mod lock my player car because when i play franklin or michael their car outside their house the default car assigned by the game get locked, when i unlock i got theft attempt
