In order to fix the crashing issue, you have to change your gameconfig file in the mods/update/update.rpf/common/data. I made VisualV work that way, although adding other mods and addon cars caused me to crash again and do it over again multiple times. Even when making it work, I still crash after playing for a few minutes.
