[2019] - BetterChases+ is now released. It is a modern rework and continuation of Better Chases, parting from its sourcecode, worked on by Daimian.
[2018] - I've picked up this project again, briefly. It is a little broken (Arrest Warrant doesn't work at all), I'll be on and off fixing stuff in the coming months.
1.2 should have better performance, for starters.

Q: Why are the both scripts merged into one single file?
A: Performance optimization. Both scripts work with police NPCs and calculate cop LOS to the player.
Q: Can I disable one of the modules if I don't want it?
A: Yes. Use the Ingame menu (Add).
Q: Does Arrest Warrant work with multiple characters?
A: Sadly, no. If you change characters and get Wanted while an arrest warrant is active for the other character, it will be overriden. There are no plans on fixing this for now, it would be too complex to handle.
Q: Is this compatible with Police Killer?
A: No, sorry. Both Police Killer and Better Chases take control over the Wanted Level and conflict.
Q: CAN YOU PORT THIS TO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
A: No.
Q: Can you change the Arrest Warrant timer to Ingame time? So we can wait out the warrant by waiting ingame (sleeping, passing time in the hospital).
A: Haven't figured how to do it as of now. If I learn how it's done, be sure it will be changed.

- Dynamic Warrant Length, bases on how many stars you had when escaped
- Cops will investigate if you or your car match the Warrant
- You can avoid being identified by wearing masks, helmets or driving a vehicle with tinted windows. Ducking inside a vehicle also works.
Better Chases Features
- Cops now require PIT authorization to ram you
- They also require Lethal Force authorization to start shooting at you
- Your actions now prompt an adequate response from the police, from PIT/Lethal Force authorization to a higher wanted level
- No matter how high your Wanted Level is, you can surrender by pressing E while standing still, provided there is a cop nearby.

I haven't had time to playtest this version to make sure everything works, so If you find that something breaks, let me know. You have a backup of the earlier versions in the description, too.

This is one of mt favorites mods, is a shame the phone bug. Now i dont even have to pull out my phone, cops just assume i have a gun even when i have my hands empty

What a fucking troll, no way is that phone "bug" unintentional. Why would you ruin such a promising mod just make a dumb ass statement? You couldn't even do it subtly, just instant mag dump as if the rest of this mod wasn't addressing that very fucking problem.
Don't download Better Chases+, it's even more broken than this. Like cops won't ever chase you, even at 5 stars. This one at least functions.

love this mod because it keeps police from shooting instantly but aight i know franklins black but how come i get wanted levels whenever i pull my phone out or if i pull out a blunt with the roleplay menu.

Please fix it, your mod is awesome, but unfortunately there is a problem. The cops have me on my conscience again and again, infinitely for no reason. i let myself be arrested or i let myself be killed, there comes the message "the police forgot you" and "arrest warrant has been lifted" but still when they see me, this loading of recognition starts and then everything starts all over again, 5 stars and they shoot at me @eddlm @therealismteam @the realism team
The mod is good, but I can't escape 4 stars, because as soon as it says "escaped", it sands the "deadly force" again and it happens infinite times.

Anyone getting the bug too when starting the game up theres no police patroling? After a few chases the police are popping out of no where and patroling normally?
Definitely this mod is dead & no longer updated? The other one "better chases", but it's 2020 gone as well without update.
