@InfiniteQuestion This is truly a keeper, thank you so much for this.
@Starfox1993 Thank you. Any suggestions let me know.
This was part of my cloud project that adds 50 new cloudhats trying to see how far I can push the cloud system. That has been put on hold so I just thought to release what I had finished.
@InfiniteQuestion Not sure if this was possible but maybe if you could do a few animated shooting stars here and there.
@Starfox1993 No that won't be possible... Wait a second, I have rolling clouds I was testing out but didn't work because it looked like you were inside a giant tube.... But if I added stars to the rolling clouds.... That just might look like a shooting star.... Great suggestion, will have to try.
Has anyone had issues not finding the Install locations other than x64b? I'm on v3586 S.P. I've followed the install instructions. I've even searched and added these files to what locations open iv had. I still can't get it to work. still shows og sky and stars. Any help would be great, thanks
@ked101 x64b is where the clouds are located but if you don't want to mod the x64b then you can just place it in update.rpf
@InfiniteQuestion I figured it out. the clouds.xlm goes in mods/common/date.. there is no mods/update/common/date, anyways i installed the other files in the x64b. i didnt realize that to get this to work i had use simple trainer and change the weather. this is a fantastic idea, ive been looking for something like this. can you or is there anyway to make the stars smaller more distant kinda like the look of the og stars and same as milkyway? i though it was to bright and in your face close. also i noticed at the bottom of the milkyway but at the top of any character head i.e franklin etc. it gets cut off almost like a shadow or distance scale around the character.
@Starfox1993 QuantV with reshade has shooting stars
@ked101 Thanks
@ked101 No, you never mod the common folder. The update folder is the same as common or x64, just with updated files. The installation instructions are correct, the clouds.rpf can be placed inside the update folder, update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/cloudhats. If the cloudhats folder doesn't exist, you can create it. It overrides the same location inside x64b.
If your clouds are not modified, then no trainer is required as it uses the same clouds in vanilla to spawn. If new clouds are used in weather.xml then this won't load.
There isn't lots of room to push the clouds further as the clouds are scaled so high. Even if I could, it wouldn't be noticeable enough.
These clouds are part of my own graphics pack that would have fixed the issues, but this is trying for as close to vanilla as possible. One fix is to push farclips in the timecycles to 25000. That's what's gets cut off and why it can't go out any further.
For illusion sake the milky way can be made smaller, and the stars could have 8 quads instead of 4 which would make the stars smaller. But it won't "feel" further away, just look smaller. But I can see.
